报告题目:Unveiling reaction mechanisms in heterogeneous catalysis

报告摘要

Heterogeneous catalysis is essential to modern chemical engineering, chemistry, and energy applications. While reaction mechanisms have been extensively studied under ultra-high vacuum (UHV) on clean, well-defined surfaces, applying these insights under practical conditions remains challenging. This is due to (1) the dynamic evolution of complex catalyst surfaces and (2) the difficulty in detecting highly reactive, short-lived intermediates. These challenges often lead to a cook-and-look approach in catalyst development. In situ (operando) spectroscopy, which captures real-time structural and chemical information under working conditions, offers a powerful path forward. This talk highlights how such techniques are used to uncover mechanisms in CO oxidation, propane dehydrogenation, and C1 coupling under realistic conditions.

报告人简介:

张子豪(Zihao Zhang),现任田纳西大学(UT)助理教授。研究方向聚焦催化转化技术,通过理性催化剂设计将生物质、沼气、天然气等低值资源转化为高附加值化学品、燃料及材料。2019年获浙江大学化学工程博士学位(其间2018-2019年赴田纳西大学访学),20192024年间先后在苏黎世联邦理工乐鱼leyu(中国)(ETH Zurich)、保罗谢尔研究所(Paul Scherrer Institute)及太平洋西北国家实验室(PNNL)从事博士后研究。迄今已在Nat Chem EngNat CommunAngew ChemJ Am Chem SocACS Catal等顶级期刊发表论文70余篇,其中以第一作者身份发表论文30余篇。
